Dana Fitz Gale’s first collection of short stories won the 2015 Brighthorse Prize in Short Fiction and was a finalist for both the Flannery O’Connor Award and the Ohio State book prize. The collection, titled Spells for Victory and Courage is forthcoming with Brighthorse Books. Dana has also received numerous other awards for her short stories, which have recently appeared in Crazyhorse, Prairie Schooner, Indiana Review, Quarterly West, New Letters, Mid-American Review, Arts & Letters, Crab Orchard Review, New South, and Tampa Review, among other places.
