A Monday Poem on Wednesday

Grandmothers by Alex, 4th Grade, Franklin School

I am here with my grandma
playing basketball. the orange and
gold ball hitting my fingertips. I hear
the bounce and the smell of…
basketball.

She tells me to bounce lower, to
look up, the run with it.

Does she know it’s hard. Does she
know the sound hurts my ears. Does
she know. I don’t.basketball net
