Real Poets Eat Quiche was our most successful luncheon fundraiser ever! Thanks to our generous supporters and sponsors we raised $4575. All of these donations will go towards helping students around Western Montana find their voices and creatively express themselves through writing.
A highlight of the luncheon was the poetry reading by our student poets on subjects that ranged from delightful villians to friendly ice cream (see “Ice Cream is Friendship” below). Unsurprisingly, we also found that many of the adults in attendance could write some excellent haikus when prompted by Artistic Director Sheryl Noethe.
Numerous sponsors and supporters made this luncheon a great success. These included our table sponsors–D.A. Davidson and Mountain Press, our Sestina sponsors–First Security Bank and Julie Gardner/Lambros Real Estate and all our food and gift basket donations–Good Food Store, Clyde Coffee, Montana Party Time, Laurel Creek, Red Rooster, Missoula Textile and Xplorer Maps.
Thank you to our fabulous board, staff and writers who stepped in to make it all run!
And of course, thank you to all of you who continue to support creative writing in the schools!
